SWIMMING LESSONS

Adult & Child classes, Private Bubble hire for families.

1. Courses are booked in half term blocks. Full payment is due by the payment date stated in the rebooking email, usually about a week before the end of the current half term or on booking your place if you are new.
2. Any places that are not paid for in full by the payment date will be cancelled. There is no flexibility on this I’m afraid. Please make sure you are aware of term dates so you can be ready to pay for the next course. We mostly follow the Pembrokeshire school term dates.
3. Late payment reminders will incur a cost of £2 each. This will be added to your account.
4. You will have an online account. You can log into it at any time. It is your responsibility to make sure details are kept up to date on your account (ie phone, email and medical details).
5. All swimmers work towards an award at the end of every half term. The cost of this is included in your lesson price. To be eligible for the award at the end of the half term, your child needs to have been booked in for a minimum of 4 lessons in the current half term and complete the half term.
6. Any sessions missed by you will not be refunded (although a degree of flexibility may be offered if a child has a long term illness/absence due to exceptional circumstances).
7. Lessons may occasionally be cancelled for circumstances beyond my control. I try to do this as early as possible but as continuity is so important, I only cancel when all other options have been exhausted. Cancellations are by email to the email on your account. I also try to put a post on my Facebook page although this isn’t always possible. If you turn up by mistake we will try to accommodate your child if there is space in a class, but we cannot go over our class size limits.
8. Sessions cancelled by myself for any reason will not be charged.
9. Cameras & photography are not permitted in any class.
10. Social distancing must be adhered to in all areas of Portfield Pool and school grounds.
11. Parking – please park anywhere sensible but NOT in front of the main doors. This space is needed for Portfield parents to collect their children from holiday and after school club.
12. Due to Covid restrictions there are currently no changing facilities except for adult & child sessions, (when there is 5 mins to pop gowns/towels over swimwear or very quickly pop a nappy on a younger child) and family bubble private hire sessions (changing facilities are available but still for a very limited time).
    

    There are no showers. Toilets are available on a ‘need only’ basis. 

    Masks MUST be worn indoors by everyone over 11yrs. 

    No shoes can be worn inside.

13. Happy Nappy’s MUST be worn by all swimmers under 3 yrs in Baby & Toddler Classes, reusable swim nappies must also be worn if your child is not yet fully toilet trained. We do not use disposable swim nappies.
14. Hats must be worn for all swimmers 3 yrs and over although considerations will be made for some with sensory issues by arrangement with the teacher.
15. Lessons for ages 3yrs+ may be taught in the water or by a teacher on poolside with an assistant in the water as in line with industry guidelines.
16. Illness & symptoms of covid.
    

    Swimmers ARE NOT allowed in the pool within 48 hrs of any sickness and/or diarrhoea.

    If you or your family have symptoms of covid or have been told to self isolate, you must not attend. Unfortunately in these challenging times there is no refund for this presently.

    Swimmers with rashes/other illnesses should seek medical advice before swimming.

17. Baby & Toddler classes may very occasionally run without a teacher as a free play session. This is when the only alternative would be to cancel and I try to avoid this. These sessions will be at a reduced rate but will not be eligible for cancellation.
18. All swimmers must wait at least an hour after eating a meal or 30 mins after eating a snack before entering the water with exception to very small babies yet to start weening, who can feed/snack at any time before or even during their swim.
19. Family bubbles – the pool is available to hire as a family bubble unit. This bubble must adhere to current restrictions. It is your responsibility to ensure that current restrictions allow you to share with any other family unit.

    1 adult may bring…

    • 1 x 0-3yrs plus 2 x 4-7yrs or
    • 2 x 0-3yrs or
    • 3 x 4-7yrs
    • 8yrs+ can attend without an adult
